  1. My photography needs work...

Well, after looking the following beauties over, I've come to the conclusion I need to find some sort of way to improve my photography prowess. It isn't a huge deal for the business exactly, but it's pretty important in regards to running the site here, getting ideas across, and more recently, demonstrating help and "how-to" tutorials. As we stand right now, here are a few gems from the last collection I took:

  2. Need a crash course in candy vending machines (servicing, maintaining)

    Hello blog community -

This is an unusual request to any and all bloggers willing to reply and help. (This is also the first "blog" I've ever written, so bear with me.) The original writer on this forum, my step-dad, BigRedVender, unfortunately passed away on February 28th. We have these currently functional ...

  3. Watch out for the Cones!

So, in what amounts to an impulse buy, I bought two old Northwestern "Cone" Vending machines. The vendors I spoke with couldn't recall the "real" name, and I haven't heard back from Northwestern proper yet. All I know is that they are very big, and very old. They were designed to be super-high capacity gumball machines (as seen in the included photo) but it's taken quite a while to get them cleaned up internally, as they had been in storage for a long time.

  4. Betting on a location

When I go out and locate in person, I've started to look at businesses in another light when I consider how much I might make off of them. As the economy stagnates and our taxes go up (again) businesses are looking shakier than ever. I heard the other day from a friendly competitor of mine that another local vendor lost a Bounce-A-Roo in a family restaurant that closed suddenly, and left without a trace. The place had opened up 3 or 4 years ago, and had a pretty good reputation and a regular crowd- ...
  5. It's Alive! Toy N Joy Chicken

I recently got a Toy N Joy "Talking Toy" vending machine, better known as a "chicken" machine, and it's now on the mend. I bought it in good condition- the former owner was very good to it and had all the parts and accessories. After some general repair and a change of locks, it's now mechanically functional again as a capsule machine. My long term goal is to update the unit into something "more" than a chicken machine, and into something that's irresistible to everyone ...
